Teachers Up 2023 conference offers professional development opportunities to English language teachers and pre-service English teachers at all levels in El Salvador. In lively interactive sessions, participants exchange ideas and practices and integrate knowledge of current trends in the field while developing a professional network. The two-day conference features keynotes, concurrent sessions, showcase, panel discussion, and networking events. Participants can choose to attend the conference in person at ESEN or online. Call for Session Proposals We are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting proposals for presentations and workshops specifically tailored to English language teachers for our upcoming conference. Conference Keynote Speakers We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for this year's Teachers Up conference! Join us as we welcome two remarkable individuals who have made a significant impact in the field of education. Dr. Jim Rogers, an English Language Fellow at the CentroCultural Salvadoreno Americano in San Salvador, is also a Professor of ESL in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Utah State University in the US. For the last 35 years, he has taught ESL and EFL to students and worked with teachers worldwide, presenting at conferences and enjoying giving workshops. Mary Scholl, founder and fellow of the Institute for Collaborative Learning in Costa Rica, has an impressive 30-year teaching career and has designed and implemented educational projects in Latin America for over18 years and served as an English language specialist for 16 years in 9 countries. As a teacher-trainer and trainer of trainers, she is renowned for her global impact in the field of TESOL, recognized by the U.S. Department of State as one of the top 30 English Language Specialists in 2021.
